PERSONAL PROJECT | PULCINELLA

Pulcinella is a character from the Italian theater tradition: Commedia dell'arte. Pulcinella is known for his imagination and creativity. In every situation Pulcinella tries to get a valuable advantage from that situation. Even though he would fall in a deep pit, he would think it's a special opportunity to see the world from another perceptive. 

Essentially Pulcinella is a mysterious figure, full of contradictions. He can be a man, but also a woman. Pulcinella wears a black mask and white clothing, witch revere to life and death or good and evil.

These characteristics and contradictions are translated trough the lines and surfaces of the Pulcinella. You can see sharp lines in the front which slowly dissolve in curvy lines in the rear of the Pulcinella. These lines represent the characteristics of good and evil. The light and dark color contrast in the surfaces revere to life and death, same as the Pulcinella’s clothing and mask.
